Marta is an 8 month old Pointer puppy in Tbilisi, Georgia
who has had a horrific start to life. She was very clearly starved, neglected and abused. Marta's owner decided to drop her off at the shelter and his reasoning was that she had become "ugly" and "would not make a good hunting dog". The "ugly" appearance he is referring to is Marta's condition, rickets, (a condition causing poor bone development) which was likely brought on by poor diet aka the fact that she is so malnourished and emaciated. Because Marta is young, the hope is that she can bounce back from this with careful care and proper nutrition.
Despite Marta's horrible start to life, she is still begging anyone she meets for attention and love and is described as a sweet, loving and affectionate young dog.
Marta's chances of adoption are slim to none in the city she currently resides, therefore, a cry for help was posted pleading for her rescue. Urban Tails Animal Rescue immediately and without hesitation has stepped in to help bring Marta to Canada.
The funds raised in this particular fundraiser will all be allocated to the transportation, veterinary costs and care for Marta. If you can donate $1, $5, $10, $20 or more, we would be so grateful as ANY amount is helpful in this urgent rescue case.
