Please help us save our rescue pup, Champion.
Champion has had a very difficult beginning to life. Being a Greyhound, he was subjected to years of abuse at a Greyhound race track in Iowa. The race track has since been shut down for animal abuse. Branded, and tattooed, his main purpose in life was to build up the confidence of the Alpha-Race dogs. This means going days without eating, being abused physically by the owners/operators of the track & fellow dogs, and never receiving the gift of love from a human companion. He was never a winning dog, and is lucky to be alive.
Luckily Champion was rescued by a local shelter in Omaha. Being three years old, and a challenge (due to his mental and emotional trauma) for many pet owners, Champion was not desirable as other pups. That all changed when Alexis and Michael fell in love with him. They knew he was the perfect addition to their family, despite being malnourished and his heart-breaking past. Together, they worked with Champion, giving him all the love and attention he lacked for years.
After two years of being in the perfect home, Champion finally trusts again. He is happy, comfortable, and loved. He finally has his second shot at a happy life.
Now we need your help. Alexis and Michael have noticed two hard lumps on Champions neck, causing difficulty eating, drinking, and breathing. It causes him so much pain, he is unable to get comfortable all day and night. The lumps may or may not be cancerous. Champion is only five years old, he deserves a long, healthy, and happy life after all he has been through.
Please help us save his life, so we can continue to give him the one he deserves.Champion and his brother Zeus.
