Help us prepare for our two rescued race horses!!

Donation protected
UPDATE! We have now rescued another horse along with the horse who's story is below. Both from the same farm and both will be coming home with us on Sunday March 24th! These horses were going to be discarded and have been suffering years of abuse since they were born. We are so thankful for all of the donations and help getting these horses out. We plan to continuing rescuing and every donation made has made an impact on that plan!

By chance we drove by a race horse breeding facility here in CA. We were just looking to see the animals and what it was all about! We met the man who runs the place and asked him if he had any animals for sale. He told us they didn’t sell but they had one they needed to get rid of! He took us over to this sweet sweet boy, as we entered his stable he lowered his head and places it right besides my neck and dropped into my shoulder. We looked at each other and decided we needed to take him!

He had been racing on the race tracks into 3 months ago and as they say “he is too sweet for us.” He was not meant to be a race horse. Those horses usually get disposed of when they end up costing farms money instead of making a profit!

In the last 3 months he has not had much human interaction or touch, proper exercise or been out of his stall. We were not prepared for a horse necessarily but decided we could do it! We couldn't stand to walk away knowing what would happen to him. We are sitting on 5 acres of land in Joshua Tree. We will be building a fence, a stall for the evenings fully enclosed, getting him shoes, blankets, lots of vitamins as he needs to put on weight, the best quality food and anything else to make him safe and comfortable during this transition.

We will be working with him for any trauma from racing and help him begin healing!

Many people and social media following I know asked me how they can donate money. I am so touched by this and while was not ever planning to ask I thought this was a good way to allow others to show up and support not just us but him!

We are making this property friendly to add a couple more rescue animals in the coming months.

We have two weeks to get all this done!! March 24th he is scheduled to be transported to his new home.

Money from Donations will go to:

Building out his paddock and fencing.
An indoor stall with AC and misters for the hot desert summers
Stable equipment
Auto water fillers
Supplies to help heal his injuries and wounds.

Thank you all for you care and desire to help us give this guy a new chance at life!
