Help us pay little Ms.Sophie's hospital bill

Who is this for anyway?

This is Sophie. She's a 12 year old Calico. We like to call her "Our Little Old Lady" around the house. She's very sweet and mild mannered. About 8 months ago my fiance and I adopted her at a shelter where she was the oldest cat by a long shot. She was raised in an old folks home where (we assume) her owner passed and she came to be in the shelter. She was very scared and alone, and despite her age my fiance and I more than happily welcomed her into our home. As another pet owner might imagine over the last several months she's come to be very close, and mean an awful lot to us. She's our little love.

What a cute kitty, what happened to her?

About 5 days ago now we noticed an abrupt change in Sophie's eating and behavior. After a day and a half we took her to the vet where they administered fluids and vitamins, this brought a positive, if slight, change to how lethargic she had become. However, she still wasn't eating. We took her in once again where the Vet gave her a small dose of Midazolam, an appetite enhancer, and recommended immediate blood testing.  Which brings us to this evening. Currently she's holding mere teaspoons of food at a time, an improvement, and through syringe feeding we hope to encourage her to eat more. We aren't 100% certain how dire her situation is, but a kidney issue is appearing more and more likely. So, why are we on GoFundMe?

Where's my donation going to?

All donations are going directly to Sophie's vet bills, which currently sit at 637.50.

Why is the goal 800?

We expect more cost in the very near future, her blood test results will give us insight into medication or dietary needs, which the additional donations will go towards. Anything beyond that will go towards her follow-up visits.

What's the deadline?

Truly, the deadline is as soon as possible. Time is of the essence for a cat her age, and while we were able to front the bill, it leaves us in a very precarious situation financially.

Any pet owner/lover knows the deep connection one makes with their animals. Seeing them everyday after a harsh day at work, or spending a lazy Sunday with the lil furry friend you love so much. We understand Sophie isn't a spring chicken, but to have her a little longer, and much healthier would mean more than the world to us. You help improved the quality of life for a senior feline, and for a young budding couple trying to get by. Thank you so much for viewing, sharing, and donating.
