As most of you know Gus was involved in an accident Wednesday. After discussing his injuries it's become very clear we are in for a long journey to get him well again. At this moment his combined vet bills are about $1,900,and that's without anymore operations or surgeries. I hate asking for help, and I know it's the holidays, but if you could spare a little something for us to help bring our baby home...it would mean the world to me.

Gus is doing so well! He's home and healing! He is currently in bed with his 'cone of shame' on and snuggling with his auntie April. Thank you all so much for your kind words and messages! It really did make the days fly by! Just knowing he had so many amazing folks rooting for him!

His final bill for his emergency surgery and stay was $7600. That's a lot,I know. We've got a long way to go medically and financially. After his staples are removed and his next round of medication,we will be scary close to $8000. So,if you can share this or donate a little bit? That'd be cool! Also! If you know of any nonprofits for dogs, shoot me a message!

Gus says thank you! He's a new Tripawd! Haha He's not moving around yet, because we've gotta let his pelvic wall mend,or we could be facing another $3500 operation. Lazy and calm is good! Sleep is goooood. Bless his heart.
Dat face.

Gus is doing so well. He's demanding more attention and affection from the staff, and he's even trying to be up and move around! Because he's attempting to be mobile and he's so young, they are very happy with the idea of allowing him to heal his own pelvis. With strict confinement at home and little movement, this dude should be headed fast to mended. His enzymes went from perfect last night,to just a tad elevated this morning. His blood work was great,a little puny on working white blood cells(I think that's how it was told to me). No need for more blood, and he's about to be given his daily dose of solid food to try for that important movement we've all been waiting for. This week we should have a little Gus at home as the best Christmas gift ever! I'm so excited. I feel like we're so close to where I wasn't sure we would ever be. My little fighter is back to his loving ways. Little stinker is flirting like mad,and the current doctor says he enjoys his exams and procedures 'cause it's more hands on time from the staff. No more news from them unless something changes drastically.

He's so strong. Bless him.

Gus update: all vitals are up,catheter is going to be removed today, probably needs more blood this evening,he's brighter and very alert. They brag on his attitude and demeanor. Dr.Crowe and the nurses say he doesn't know he's a chihuahua, apparently he didn't get the memo? Because he's so lazy and liked to sleep pretty much 22.8 hours a day prior to this trauma,he's doing magnificent! Haha His kidneys are still not doing 100% but there has been daily improvement and that's the numbers we're watching currently. Several more days away from discussing his return to home, and that is totally okay. We need him under care as long as he's still having even the tiniest of issues. Everyone sounded so positive. It was lovely.

Little Gus is almost out of the woods! He's healing up after his amputation and his penile surgery, wonderfully! He's still in the running for another pretty large operation to repair his pelvic bone, maybe with limited activity and some really good rest,he will mend naturally and won't require another operation, down the road. His pelvic wall was pretty messed up. Dr.Crow is a magician and managed to do a lot of big business on my baby, last night. I'm going to head to Chattanooga shortly to visit Gus and encourage him. Hopefully hold or at least spend some time with him. We have passed the $5000 mark, financially. I'm not going to concern myself with anything but his health. Finances are secondary to that precious boys life.

Thank you all so much. From the bottom of my fluffy heart. You've given me so much hope and encouragement. I don't know what I would've done without all of you. Blessings. Each of you are a blessing in my life and I'll never forget how much you warmed my soul during this horrific and heartbreaking time. I'll never be able to express how much gratitude I'm filled with. Thank you so much. <3
I can't wait to kiss that wet nose. ❤️
