Help us finish the miracle. Aplastic anemia.

Donation protected
We are a fairly young family from the Czech Republic. We have been working and living for a long time in Ukraine. We, my wife, gave birth to 3 children there, son Václav and daughters Zlata and Eva. At the beginning of the summer of 2017, frequent nose bleeds, bruising and tiredness affected Václav. For a long time, no one could confirm the diagnosis. In July, thanks to a great haematologist in Lvov, we learned the terrible truth – our son had a rare diesease - very severe aplastic anaemia (bone marrow failure). We decided to go to Prague immediately because the medical conditions of Václav were very critical.

Because no family member was a suitable donor, Václav underwent immunosuppressive therapy (hATG + CsA). The results are very good and now they are in partial remission. But he is not completely healthy yet.

We are very glad that there is a health insurance system in the Czech Republic. All treatment is paid by the state.

But the extra costs associated with therapy are high. Our requests for financial contributions (although we have a right to do so) have been rejected (we have a good health insurance system but a bad social welfare system).

We want to move from Prague to an environment that will be better for convalescence. The side effect of treatment is weight gain (58kg is just 10 years old). We have to go on a lot of intense walks and this is not very possible in Prague. We will have to pay the services of the physiotherapist. High costs are associated with relocation and purchase of equipment.

The doctors say the healing process is surprisingly good. I find it a small miracle and I want to finish it ...

We thank everyone who has helped us on our way and all who can help us now.
