Help Trisha Palmieri Kick Cancer’s Ass!

Donation protected

If you know Trisha, I’m sure you remember where you were when you heard the devasting news about her breast cancer diagnosis. While any cancer diagnosis is a punch in the gut, the ache is something else when it happens to someone so young and positive, especially someone who has already been through more than enough sorrow relating to this awful disease.

On April 26th, Trisha went in for an ultrasound to investigate a lump she noticed in her right breast.  During this ultrasound, two lumps were identified and she was asked to return for a biopsy on Monday April 29th. Within 24 hours of her biopsy Trisha was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. This all occurred in the same month that Trisha turned 26 years old. With barely enough time to mentally process her diagnosis, she had to begin immediately scheduling doctors’ visits, researching different treatments, and making arrangements to have her eggs extracted before treatment began.

As if the tremendous emotional distress that accompanies a cancer diagnoses isn’t enough, it also comes as a package deal with a hefty financial burden. While Trisha’s independent nature makes it difficult for her to ask for help, I want to remove this financial burden from her shoulders, so she can focus on becoming 100% better again. No matter where your path first crossed with Trisha’s, whether it was at work, during college, through sports, or it was a one-time occurrence, I know that her huge heart and inspiring demeanor would have impacted you positively and most likely continues to do so. For this reason, I want to show her that we all have all got her back! Any support in her journey, whether its emotionally, financially, or both, will forever be appreciated.

Trisha has a wonderful support system of friends, family, and coworkers who will help her through her treatments at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Illinois. Her treatment journey consists of  8 rounds of dose-dense chemo every other Tuesday over 16 weeks, followed by a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.  I’m sure this won’t come as a shock, Trisha has maintained her unbounding positivity and unconquerable attitude throughout her diagnosis and into the beginnings of her treatment.
