Help Tory Tackle Cancer

Please help us to raise money for Tory Saxton. One of the sweetest, most beautiful little girls I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing! Tory is the oldest of the Saxton’s two precious daughters. In her 13 years she’s made friends everywhere she goes. Our experience with the family starts 12 years ago...

   We moved to NC 12 years ago and met the Saxton’s, who were also new to the area. Our oldest daughter Willow, and Tory soon became good friends. Only 2 months apart in age, they grew up together and developed a friendship that has gone from buddies to besties! In the words of our daughter Willow; “Tory is my best friend, I just love her so much” 

   We’ve already seen the family cope with adversity in their lives. From relocating several times for employment, to adjusting to the news that Tory was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at a young age.  But the biggest trial of them all has come with the diagnosis of a rare form of cancer called Ewing’s Sarcoma in her spinal column. 

   As you can imagine, the families entire life has shifted focus. Tory’s mom has left her job to be at her side while she undergoes aggressive treatments. The work of settling into a new area after a recent move, has been replaced with decisions about Tory’s care. The once seeming important work of unpacking boxes is suddenly changed to unraveling medical terms and reading prescription instructions. All the while the daily routines of life must somehow continue on. 
   
   In looking for ways to help Tory and her family, I began to realize how much I can’t fix. So much of a trial like this is out of our hands as a friend. One person can only do so much. But as a group, many of us can help ease some of the financial burden that they will most certainly face as the costs of Tory’s care begin to add up. One thing I can do is coordinate donations to help cover medical bills they are facing now, and will no doubt incur in the future.  As Tory’s treatments continue for the next 6-8 months, I know that Tory and her family will be the strong and resilient family we have come to love.  They, as well as I will be incredibly grateful for any and all help they receive.
