Help Tony Mitchell in his fight against Leukemia
Tony Mitchell was riding a winning streak in life, always making his family and friends laugh; until recently, when he was dealt a bad hand and was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
As I write this, Tony is on Day 16 of chemo treatment at UofM Hospital in Ann Arbor. The first few days, we hoped for the best case scenario- a couple more weeks of chemo in the hospital, followed by a regimen of treatment for another 6-24 months. Unfortunately, more detailed test results came back to show that a bone marrow transplant will also be needed.
One way we can all help Tony, along with many others out there in need, is by swabbing your cheek via a free home mailed kit, and adding your bone marrow type to the international registry. There are a few options out there, such as https://bethematch.org/ and https://www.dkms.org/en
Another way we can help Tony is by donating to this GoFundMe. Every little bit helps.
Your donation will help to cover expenses incurred by the bone marrow donor if needed, as well as Tony's additional outpatient chemo and radiation treatment, not always covered by insurance.
