Help This Single Mom with Cancer

My name is Danielle and I’m a single mom of two sons I love very much. I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2014. It was Stage One and everything looked like it should have a simple outcome but that’s not how it went. Prior to my diagnosis, I had been caring for my oldest son who was seriously ill for 6 years. His dad and I had been taking him from doctor to doctor trying to get a diagnosis as he got sicker and sicker. By the time I was diagnosed with breast cancer, he was bed ridden and needed total care. I cried everyday and I found it impossible to sleep. I could feel my health tanking, so I decided to do a double Mastectomy in order to be done with the cancer and get back to caring for my son as quickly as possible.

It took seven years to finally get a diagnosis for my son. This past year we found out that he has Autoimmune Encephalitis and also Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME). It cost tens of thousands out of pocket to finally get that diagnosis. His treatment was more out of pocket expense. We had to do a fundraiser for him and we were generously supported by many kind individuals. In spite of that help I quickly went through my savings and into debt. But it was what any parent would do to save their kid.

January of 2016 another malignant tumor was found on my ribcage very close to where the original tumor had been. I thought it was a just a surgical tack that had developed scar tissue and was causing me pain. When my doctor went in we realized it wasn’t a tack. Weeks later, pathology confirmed what we suspected. It was another malignancy and there were additional tumors in the area.

So, I got to work informing myself of my options. Since then I’ve done massive research into healing the body from cancer. I’m so good at research I think I could work for the FBI! One of the first things I did was I watched the award winning documentary, “The Truth About Cancer” (TTAC). If you or a loved one has cancer PLEASE watch this important film. We ALL need to inform ourselves. I also found resources like, ChrisBeatCancer.com , which is full of information on how to get well and testimonials from people who are cancer free, many who had been Stage IV and had liver or pancreatic cancer!

I also found two amazing MDs who practice Functional Medicine (one of them specializes in treating cancer). Functional Medicine focuses on treating the WHOLE person and bringing them back into balance and health through targeted medical protocols and high-level customized nutrition. I feel so blessed to have these two gifted doctors working in collaboration with each other to help my body heal. One of them is treating me for free. The other is very expensive and unfortunately, doesn’t take insurance.

My doctors want me to do The Greece Test. Sloan Kettering is now using it after receiving a multi-million dollar grant for a study. It’s been used in Europe for over ten years to target treatment. Using the latest breakthroughs in molecular biology, The Greece Test https://www.rgcc-group.com/ tests your blood for malignant tumor cells and assesses the patient’s sensitivity to chemotherapy. Using those results, a personalized treatment program is designed for the individual patient, instead of using a “hit-and-miss” approach, using known cancer drugs and also alternative nutritional protocols.

Even though the Greece test has been used for over a decade in many countries, it’s new here and insurance companies consider it experimental so it’s not covered by insurance and costs over 3000 dollars. I will also be doing GcMAF https://immunocentre.eu/what-is-gcmaf/ My out of pocket cost is over $3000 a month and I'll need at least 6 months of treatment.

My prayer is that you will find it in your heart to help me on this journey so I can get the treatment I need. I hope I’ll get to pay it forward and help other people with cancer on their journey back to health. I’m also praying that with your help, I will dance at my youngest son’s wedding this summer.

I’ve kept my cancer private for the past year and I’m coming out about it now because I just can’t do this on my own. It might sound crazy but letting people know I have this disease feels scarier to me than the cancer. I’ve always a hard time asking for help. I’m more comfortable being the person who gives the help. I was also afraid that people would treat me differently because of it. I just don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me, or worried about me and I don’t want any of that negative energy…just positivity please!

This disease has brought me many unanticipated gifts. One of them is a keen awareness that each day truly is a blessing. Another unlikely gift is it’s forced me to embrace being comfortable with being uncomfortable (and here I am having to ask for help) and also not knowing. I embrace the discomfort on a moment-by-moment basis. Sometimes it’s next to impossible and other times I slip into it like a heated pool that I float in weightlessly. The more I embrace not knowing, the more I feel like I have a window into a world that few people get to experience. It’s neither better nor worse. It’s simply otherworldly. It’s teaching me things I never would have understood without being here. It’s my personal moon landing and I cross this lunar surface on unsteady feet and feel grateful for each day I get to do that. For any help I receive from you, I also feel deeply grateful. Whether it’s a donation or your prayers, I thank you and bless you, from the bottom of my heart. May your kindness come back to you ten-fold.
