"Listen Local" was born in 2003 as the title for the open mic showcase series I started at The Coaster Saloon in Mission Beach, Ca. In 2005 Listen Local also became a local music podcast and in 2009 The Listen Local Show produced local music content for 102.1 KPRi as "The Homegrown Hour". In 2015 The Listen Local Show became an "audio calendar" of San Diego's local music activity featuring local music, interviews and more. This has been an amazing ride and none of it would have been possible without the support of sponsors and those of you generous listeners who have helped me through the years. The new year brought some changes to The Listen Local Show as some of my sponsors were not able to continue funding the projects, totally understandable. Thankfully, I am able to continue the show thanks to the continued financial support from De Oro Mine Company and Hale Ukulele. Yay! The format of the show is changing, too, as the show will be a video web series each week featuring movers and shakers from San Diego's creative scene. Besides my interviews I've invited artists, muscians and creative/inspring people to send in video "selfies" or produced segments sharing their endeavors. I'm SUPER excited about this new format and can't wait for the first show to post on 1/4/18 at www.ListenLocalRadio.com
Those of you familiar with 1/2 Fast Foto and Film know it's just me and my Cannon SX40, a busted tripod and Windows Movie Maker *wince* I would LOVE to upgrade and I have my eye on some programs, software, cameras, gimbals, tripods...the list goes on.
This GoFundMe campaign will help me purchase equipment and stuff necessary to keep The Listen Local Show happening every week. Your cash donations will help me drive around San Diego to interview facinating people/places and things and I can always use hand me down equipment donations and additional show sponsors.... let's talk!
