Help the Knight family fight Leukaemia

My sister and brother in law, Sarah and Simon and their family have not had the easiest time of things. When Joshua, Sarah and Simon's first child was born, everything was right in the world. He was a beautiful little boy, and had the cheekiest grin. Only 14 months later, his sister Caitlin arrived after a very difficult and dangerous pregnancy and labour, the family was complete. However, it did not take long before we started to notice some differences in little Joshua. Joshua was diagnosed with autism. We knew that there would be some challenges for Joshua ahead, but Sarah and Simon took it in their stride. Joshua has been enrolled in many therapy's and has made enormous progress, and this year started year 2 in a mainstream school. Joshua loves to draw. He is a fantastic artist and draws his favourite characters, currently Roald Dahl and Nightmare before Christmas. He loves his sister, and they are the best of friends. However, nothing could prepare the family for what was coming.
Joshua started to complain about sore tummies, sore bones, had fevers without a cold and was not putting on any weight. When Sarah and Simon saw the doctor, it was put down to his fussy eating, in part due to his autism, and they were dismissed. The family did not give up, and finally after a broken arm, the doctor agreed to run a blood test. The family set out to prepare Joshua for his blood test so that he wouldn't be upset or confused. Joshua had the blood test on Tuesday 20/11/2018.  The following day, my sister was called in to the doctor's urgently. She was told that Joshua needed to be taken to the Hospital immediately.

And then... The worse word she could imagine. Leukemia.

Sarah called Simon to come home from work, they picked Joshua and Caitlin up from school and rushed to the hospital. Sarah's parents met her there, and Simon's stepfather was not far behind; his mother was organising an urgent flight back to Australia.  The specialist was waiting.  Joshua was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He is 7 years old.  Joshua has a minimum of 8 months, up to 2.5 years of treatments ahead of him. On 22/11 he underwent his first surgery, a bone marrow biopsy, a spinal fluid test, and a port inserted, along with his first round of Chemotherapy.  Joshua has a very long fight ahead of him, and he doesn't understand what is happening. Sarah and Simon are being strong, and I know that Joshua, and Caitlin, will be their first and only priority during this difficult time.

And this is why I am making this page, I do not want Sarah and Simon to need to worry about finances as they stand with Joshua to fight this devastating disease. We cannot take this diagnosis away, but we can help them by eliminating a few of their burdens. Simon should not need to worry about missing work to be there for Joshua during a round of Chemo. Sarah should not need to worry about how she is going to pay for medicine, food or a roof over their heads. The stress of travelling to hospital and staying for treatment, and wondering if they are going to need to sell the car to pay for it. Their focus needs to be on their children, and if we can help them by giving anything we can spare, then this is more energy and strength they can bring to Joshua to help him fight this.

Please. Friends, Family, Strangers. Dig as deep as you can, and let's support the Knight's battle against Leukemia.
