Help the Hoffs

This summer will mark 20 years of Teresa’s health battles.  At the age of 35 she has faced and overcome more than most do in a lifetime.  In 2005 she married the love of her life Brad Hoff.  Since then he has loyaly held her hand and helped her quite literally fight for her life. She has had countless surgeries and hospital stays.  In June 2008 she had her first liver transplant caused by a horrific disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis better known by PSC.  About 2 years after this she was given the beautiful miracle of a son, Liam, who is almost 7 years old.  Despite her constant pain and illness she is an incredible mother and wife to a pretty special little human and loyal, loving husbad.  Liam and Brad in return give Teresa hope and something to fight for.

This past summer Teresa’s doctors at Mayo noticed something that didn’t look quite right.  In early fall she was brought in for further testing.  This testing concluded that PSC had returned to her new liver and had progressed enough that she was eligible to be listed for another liver trasplant.

Her constant hospital stays that keep her secluded from her life and beautiful family have been hard emotionally on her and her boys.  The financial side continues to mount and as they get closer to another transplant the medical bills will continue.  Then 2 weeks ago Teresa was driving home from dropping off Liam at school when she blacked out behind the wheels and rolled her car.  Teresa had to be airlifted to KU Med in Kansas City where they monitored her for a brain bleed.  She was released the same week and has been home recovering.

Many of you ask our family, “What can we do to help?” and for years all Teresa and Brad say when we ask them is, “Please just pray.”  Well the time has come and I have convinced them, which wasn’t easy, to let me give this a shot.  So let’s “Help the Hoffs!” and get them some much needed financial relief to help pay off some of Teresa’s medical care which includes: almost a month long hospital stay, emergency airlift to Mayo Clinic, high monthly perscription medications and now more medical bills from the accident.

To all of you who have been on this journey and those who may be seeing this for the first time; a very heartfelt “Thank-you” from our entire family espcially Brad, Teresa, Liam and Wrigley.  We appreciate your support, continued prayers and positive energy as she continues this journey towards good health.
