I’m not really sure where to start here, I never thought I’d be on a site like this asking for help, but there comes a time in your life when you realize asking for help to try and save your mothers life is more important than pride. If you’re reading this I assume you probably know my mother’s story but just in case I’ll give you a quick run down.
My mom got diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer back in 2011. From then on she battled and beat it, not only that time but two more times after that. We were very positive that the third time was going to be it. Unfortunately her cancer is back for the fourth time.
She’s going to start chemo again, they are going to try and use a new chemo that she won’t lose her hair (fingers crossed) but she did get told by her oncologist that this cancer WILL keep coming back, and eventually they won’t have any more chemo left to treat it. Obviously my mom had her moment when they told her, she cried and was “mad at the world” but it only lasted a couple minutes then she was brainstorming on how to change this outcome.
There’s lots of things that we want to do to prove the doctors wrong. She wants to move to a all plant based organic diet, juice several juices a day, she wants to take the metal fillings out of her teeth, see a naturopath, continue using her cbd oils, order organic farm bound boxes weekly, and just try to get her body to the best health it can be, and last but not least we want to send her to mexcio for treatment.
She has informed me that she’s too scared not to do chemo, because we do know that it does work, but it only works short term for her. So she’s going to start chemo, she will go once a week for three weeks, then take a two week break. She’ll do this for 6 months. She’ll be finished by Christmas time, just in time for her and my dad’s trip they have already planned and paid for. She told me she would still go on her trip to Costa Rica and enjoy her two months hospital free, then she would come home and we would go to Mexico for further treatment. From what I’ve gathered the cost of mexcio can run anywhere between 20,000-30,000. I want to raise her enough money to be able to go to mexcio for this treatment, pay for the flights for her and who she goes with, cover their stay, do all the small things/changes she wants to do in Canada before then, and just to have a bit of relief.
If you have had the pleasure of actually meeting my mom you’ll know what a positive great human she is, she’s ALWAYS helping other people, even when she’s sick herself she puts that aside and puts everyone else first. It’s time to put her first, it’s time to show her some love and support. I know that the plan for Mexico is quite a few months away, but i want her to know it’s a 100% go, I want her to be positive and know there’s something to look forward too that’s set in stone. Plus the small things she wants to change in her life between now and then will cost money, and I want her to be able to have no worries to better her health.
If you can’t donate that’s okay too!! Just keep her in your prayers/good thoughts, or when you see her keep her positive energy up!! We know there’s days when she’ll feel discouraged, so instead of feeling sorry for her, try and get those spirits back up, and maybe just give her a big ol hug.
