Help Sustain CMLC Language Programs

The Corvallis Multicultural Literacy Center (CMLC) is a community-based learning center where individuals and families of all cultures come together to share, mentor, and understand their different cultures, to access resources, and to build a cohesive community in a safe, welcoming environment.
For the past 12 years, the CMLC has provided many free and tangible services like language exchange and tutoring, English and Spanish conversation circles, citizenship application assistance, and hosts many cultural and educational events, such as International Potluck Lunch. The center resources also include: Culture Explorations Kits, Language resource library, and International Textile and Clothing Collection. Those services and resources are utilized by and benefit local schools, local organizations, libraries, and adult care facilities.
Perhaps more importantly, the CMLC provides intangible benefits such as building positive relationships and understanding between cultures, and serving as a safe and welcoming environment for immigrants, refugees and other vulnerable communities. Operating on donations and the time and commitment of volunteers, the CMLC has flourished, and become an indispensable and invaluable asset to both the various communities of the city of Corvallis.
In order to keep providing these tangible services freely for the public, the center will need some help and donations to cover the basic expenses for the upcoming year, such as:
the childcare cost for community members participating in the English classes in Fall 2017, Winter 2017, and Spring 2018
Ink and paper and general office supplies for marketing materials
Tea and coffee supplies to continue to maintain the hospitality of the Center
The center couldn’t operate without all your support and generosity! Please help us to make the CMLC financially sustainable for the future!
