If you all are wondering why our family has been asking for constant prayer for Tomariyah, it’s because she was just recently diagnosed with AML Leukemia. AML stands for Acute Myeloid Leukemia. AML is a fast growing form of cancer in the blood and bone marrow as well as a rare aggressive type of leukemia. In this cancer the bone marrow may make abnormal red blood cells and platelets. The number of these abnormal cells increase rapidly, and the abnormal (leukemia) cells begin to crowd out the normal white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets that the body needs. The treatment for AML is aggressive to try and combat its natural aggressive nature to spread rapidly.
Our baby is in bad shape! It was very hard watching our baby in pain and the doctors poking and piercing her over and over again. Tomariyah will be hospitalized for a period of time as she has began treatment to fight AML. Although Tomariyah is doing good and responding even better to all her treatments, the battle isn’t over. She still has countless procedures and has a shopping list of medications, one could only imagine the cost occurred at this time! As fortunate as we consider ourselves, and we have held our as long as possible. We are not ones to ask for help, but at this time we have to ask friends and family for ANY help with financial assistance to help care for Tomariyah and her medical expenses. We greatly thank and appreciate you all!
