Help Support the Saunders

$4,625 of $10,000 goal

Bob and Lori had to make an emergency trip to California to visit their youngest son Alex, who at 26 years old is fighting for his life. What started as a foot injury, led to an infection that has now reached his heart. Doctors are doing everything they can to clear the infection in order to prevent open heart surgery, and ultimately keep the infection from spreading to his brain.

A situation like this not only takes an emotional toll, but comes with a tremendous financial burden. To get there as soon as possible, they have already incurred airline, hotel, and living expenses that have left them with unexpected credit card debt. Added to this, Bob and Lori have both had to take time off work which greatly limits their income and with 5 children still at home this has turned their life upside down.

Our goal is to relieve the financial pressure.
We would like to get the funds to them as soon as possible so they can:
1) Pay off travel related expenses that have been put on credit cards
2) Continue to be with Alex while he's in this critical state
3) Return home with some funds to help make up what was lost during time off.

We also ask that you continue to pray for Alex, Bob, Lori, and the rest of the Saunders family during this difficult and trying time.

Any amount given is helpful and we can't thank you enough.

Alex is still in the hospital- Cedars Sinai, but continues to improve. He has had occasional set backs, blood transfusion, and pain management is a daily challenge. The infection continues to improve overall- we are so thankful!!
Today, his Dr. team gave him a discharge date of Dec 4th- the first they have mentioned, so we are all pretty excited about that news!!
Not sure what will follow yet. No care plan mentioned.
Thank you all for your continued prayers, encouragement, messages and support.

Surg went well!! Blood clot in heart removed!!! No need to open him up!!! He's in ICU, but that's standard, he should go to floor tomorrow if he has a good night!
Oh how we are praising God!!!
Alex had a good night, slept mostly, vitals good, should move out of ICU later today
He continues to have generalized pain from infection in foot, knee and heart, but is improving!!At least 4-6 weeks of more IV antibiotics, will remain in hospital for that as far as we know.
