From Ruth:
My precious baby girl had a terrible accident Wednesday night that resulted in her sustaining burns on 40% of her body and face. Mainly 2nd and 3rd degree.
She is now at Saint Francis Burn Center in SF. She will be here for a month or maybe more healing and recovering.
I’m with her 24/7 right now because of Covid restrictions. I’m not even allowed to leave the floor and go for a walk or get a bite to eat in the cafeteria. If I leave my visiting status changes. She is only allowed one other visitor for one hour each day.
I am able to be with her because she’s 17 and she’s considered a pediatric patient. She will be turning 18 in a few weeks while here.
At this point I can’t afford not do my online summer camps, as I count myself lucky that I can work, so I will be trying to teach my classes out of the Family Room here.
Im posting this because I want to ask for you to keep her in your prayers and send positive thoughts her way. She’s a strong human and will come out of this only stronger (and for some financial support if you are able).
Right now we are in a very difficult time as she’s on a breathing tube and has many questions. She’s also very uncomfortable all the time. She had her first of many surgeries today. She has a long road of recovery ahead and I will be by her side through all of this. She is unaware of the extent of her injuries at this point so also pray that she handles her reality well.
