Rossemely is a beautiful 33 year old daughter, wife, sister and mother of 4 young children who is fighting the battle of her life, Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer. If you know Romy or see her facebook posts, you are able to see that she has such a positive outlook and is an incredibly sweet person loved by so many.
On October 19, 2015, she was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Without hesitation she was determined to beat this ugly disease, she started her chemo treatment in November of 2015. After 12 intensive chemotherapy’s six months later on May 2016 she was cleared and was given good news “You are Cancer Free”.
A few months later she thought she beat it! The joy was short lived, In mid December; Romy began with shortness of breath and chest pain shortly thereafter a CT scan was completed. On 12/15/2016, she was told the most dreaded words that anyone could ever imagine hearing, "your cancer has returned, and is now in your lungs and near your heart".
Romy now has to go through Chemo once again this time as an inpatient at the Ontario Kaiser Permanente Location. Her Chemo sessions are 4-5 days long every 3 weeks. Her treatment will also require a Bone Marrow transplant.The Bone Marrow transplant will be done at City of hope Hospital in Duarte California sometime in the Month of March. This will be a very difficult procedure and will require Romy to be in the hospital for about 1 month. Doctors are determined to try different treatments to save Romy’s life. The next few months will be extremely difficult as Romy continues to battle each and evey day and I am confident that one day she will once again be cancer free.
