Help Support Phil Fight Brain Cancer

Donation protected

In advance, thank you for reading about Phil Baugh! We greatly appreciate anyone who can donate some amount!   Phil thanks everyone for providing him support and prayer!

Major Issues With Brain Cancer

Unfortunately, in early August 2019, Phil unexpectedly learned that his tumor has begun to aggressively grow in a new area and the neuro oncologists are suspecting that it has increased to a Grade 3 or 4  (Grade 4 is the worst). Phil must now have another brain surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible and confirm his pathology.  His brain surgery date will be on Sept. 11th and performed by one of the country's top neurosurgeons at Duke.

Those of you who know Phil Baugh, know him to be one of the most positive, kind, loving, playful, and supportive men.  He lights up a room and always there to listen or lend a helping hand!  Phil has dedicated himself to seeing the positive and living as happily as possible, helping others with brain cancer, and trying to cure his cancer!

Now what Phil needs is helping with some donations, what ever you can give him! He needs to get this surgery and to further try to slow down or cure the  brain cancer!

What Happened

Sadly almost 5 years ago, our dear Phil was diagnosed with Brain Cancer (Astrocytoma Grade 2) on Nov. 1st, 2014.  It was a heartbreaking diagnosis that required him to have immediate and life-altering brain surgery without any chance to prepare.  His brain surgery took out most of his frontal lobe and left him completely unable to communicate, walk, read, write and use the right side of his body for about 7 months.  Even after extensive PT, OT and Speech Therapy, he was only able to regain about 80% of his capabilities and be on high amounts of seizure meds.  This all left Phil no longer able to work and unfortunately he was his family's solo financial supporter.  Despite the suffering and life changes he had to endure, including debilitating and excruciating  seizures and not being able to drive due to those seizures, he make it through every day!

If you aren't already aware, brain cancer has a zero cure rate using standard of care treatments but many promising new methods have been being developed.  So Phil has worked to buy time for medical advancements by completely changing his lifestyle, emotional health, and nutrition to live a cleaner life, and has been using repurposed drugs to keep his tumor stable.  This is a a long time for brain cancer to be kept at bay!  He clearly worked hard!

What Phil Has To Do

Step one is surgery. Step two is to have a personalized vaccine made for resected tumor and begin immunotherapy asap to cure his cancer.  Immunotherapy is the most groundbreaking and hopeful treatment plan for brain cancer to-date; however the type he needs is only available internationally.  This treatment plan is not covered by insurance and also will require monthly trips for injections.  It is estimated to cost him anywhere from $80K-150K all in!

We want him to be able to take part in this potentially life-saving treatment and are hoping to raise as many funds as possible by the time he finishes recovering from surgery.

How You Can Help Phil!!!

Pray!
People can help me so much by praying and talking with God to provide me and my family guidance, support and love as we are moving forward.  It is in God's hands to what we will do next. It is amazing and I am so thankful that God plays such a huge part in my family’s life. God has helped us so much as we have journeyed through life. God will continue to guide us.

Put Phil in touch with people you know!
People who have gotten rid of brain cancer and won.

Donate funding to help Phil pay for the upcoming financial challenges!
If able, perhaps you can personally donate money towards his fundraiser.  You may know of someone that can give but they have not yet heard his incredible story, so please share his story and links with them.

Thank you,

Go Team Happy!
