Help support Nancy Machado Rondeau's family

Please join us in supporting the grieving family of Nancy Machado Rondeau, who was a very active member of our community with a heart of gold!

Nancy Machado Rondeau, age 56, passed away Saturday evening at the hospice house in Haverhill after a very brave fight against a recently diagnosed, yet very advanced form of stomach cancer. . Nancy, was the daughter of the late John Machado, a retired Dracut firefighter who died 19 years ago from esophageal cancer, and her devoted mother Eileen. Nancy, a founding member of Dracut Volunteers, Inc.,  especially learned community spirit and the need for volunteering from her father as he worked with the American Red Cross and the Greater Lowell Folk Festival Foundation as well as the Dracut Firefighters Union. Of course, she learned how supportive her mother was caring for the family as her father volunteered.

Nancy was the mother of three children. Her middle child, Amanda, passed away sixteen years ago at the age of 6 years old after a valiant battle against Childhood Cancer. Her oldest son, Andrew, now age 26, took the lead in his mother’s care. Nancy’s youngest, Emily, is only 14 years old and had been a constant companion to her mother. Nancy had brought up her children to support local charitable activities and she had always been the first one to volunteer to give someone a ride; make a donation; wash cars at a charity carwash; participate in local veterans events; hand out water at the Middlemiss Road Race; make goodies for a bake sale, and of course, bringing any leftover goodies from events to the Dracut Fire Stations to show her support for her extended firefighter family. She continued her father’s legacy with the Greater Lowell Folk Festival Foundation.

A single mother, Nancy lived with her daughter Emily and her own devoted elderly mother, Eileen in Dracut. A cafeteria worker through Aramark at the Greater Lowell Technical High School, Nancy loved working this important job but unfortunately it did not have life insurance to rely on. A group of her family and friends, many recipients of her kindnesses, feel that we need to try to relieve the financial worries as the family faces this great loss. She truly was an angel on earth who would give anything she had to anyone in need! We are hoping that you will join us in providing whatever financial support you can during these difficult days.

In addition to this Gofundme; any other donations may be sent to Atty. Colleen Garry, 101 Broadway Road, #11, Dracut, MA 01826. Any funds remaining after Nancy's services will go to a trust fund for her daughter Emily.

Thank you for your thoughts, prayers and any assistance you may be able to provide this special woman's family.
