Hi. My name is Laura and I’m Sunny’s mum. I got him when I needed him the most. My mum sadly died really suddenly and without warning and the next thing I knew, my boy was ready. I was so excited and my dark days became brighter, hence, my Sunshine on a rainy day.
Happiness soon turned to extreme worry as he was gravely ill with an infection in his respiratory tract. Antibiotics orally and from injections were not working and soon he became immune to them. My local vets gave me 48 hours to book an appointment for euthanasia as he was a ‘public health risk and had MRSA.’ I quickly got in touch with the Bella Moss foundation for antibiotic resistant dogs and other animals and they were able to buy me more time and that was when I found Rutland House Animal Hospital. He was kept there for 48 hours and given the best care imaginable. He slowly started to respond to treatment and eventually we’ll enough to come home.
Fast forward 1 year and we’re back at another crossroads as now he has developed IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease). He needs to have an endoscopy and pill camera and my bill is already at £2600.
I absolutely hate hate having to ask for help as I feel so awful about it but I’m desperate. My boy needs this and I need him. I just need to find out what’s making him so poorly. At the moment they’re thinking he has rupturing ulcers and I’m hoping nothing else sinister. He has good and bad days. Today was a bad one, chronic diarrhoea with a lot of blood. Back to the vets we went for IV and vitamin B12 injections as well as anti-sickness medicine. Hope you can help? Ps. He is insured, pet plan. Only they won’t pay out again as this issue is related to the last. I know some others are having issues with insurers too.
