Hello! Thank you for visiting our GoFundMe page!

WHAT IS STRIKING OUT
Striking Out was written and directed by two comedians (Adam Levin and Ryan Ford) who moved to Chicago to study at the city’s legendary improv theaters. Like all great artists, they took day jobs as bartenders in a corporate sports bar. Being forced to watch hours upon hours of ESPN, they noticed a theme of overarching hypocrisy in professional sports ripe for satire.

Together along with a cast and crew of 17 people they created a two act musical about the first straight baseball player in a world where all professional athletes are gay. In terms of tone, think Hairspray and Book of Mormon meets Damn Yankees. After two successful runs at The Annoyance Theatre, Striking Out was recently accepted into the NYC Fringe Festival.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
As Striking Out prepares to take the stage five times at The 2018 New York International Fringe Festival, we are faced with several financial challenges. Taking a large ensemble cast across the country is a giant undertaking, and though we have fundraising shows in place and have infused much of our own money into the project, we still need your assistance to get us there.
