Help Shelley & Dwight w/unexpected vet bill

Y'all! This is a SECRET SANTA (so don't tell Shell & Dwight!) of a pretty high order, and we need a QUICK turn-around on this one! I'm asking you to all be Santa's elves! My friends Shelley and Dwight (with whom I have a LOT of friends in common, but folks who don't know them personally are SURELY welcome to help if they are able and so inclined) had their sweet little dog, Rosie, a.k.a. "Spud," chomp on a Christmas fruitcake. (I KNOW!! WHO LIKES THAT STUFF?? I digress...) Raisins are toxic to dogs, and Spud is only a "bitty" thing, so our girl IMMEDIATELY went on Santa's naughty list and has spent the last several days in the doggie hospital. Anyone who knows Shelley knows Spud has been a constant source of love and "therapy" during her late mom, Marie's, terrible illness and death, and has continued to be exactly that. Rare is the facebook photo of Shelley that does NOT include this sweet little nugget and I know Shelley would spend her last dime to care for her! This was a totally unexpected expense for Shel and Dwight, though, and... well... let's face it... our dear friend could REALLY use a break! Will you help me pay their vet bill? Shell mentioned in a post that it was "costing $800," so I'm padding the amount a bit, as there is to be a follow-up visit as well. Every single cent raised here will go to Shelley and Dwight for assistance with their vet bill. I hope you'll help. This would mean some serious holiday cheer for our friend, who is always, ALWAYS so willing to help others! Love and happiness to you all this holiday, and a million thanks in advance!
