Bee Team from St. George, South Carolina chose to improve the interaction between the county mosquito sprayings and the beekeepers. Through research, the team created an application called Beeware to help the county officials send notifications of spraying times to the local beekeepers.

Through the excellent research, strong teamwork, and their high performance robot, the Bee Team competed at the First Lego League East State Robotics Championship in Pawleys Island. The Bee Team was awarded Second Place Overall Champion in the state of South Carolina! We will be competing at the FLL Razorback Invitational on May 18-21, 2017 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We will be one out of three teams representing South Carolina at this national competition!

In order to attend this event, we need to raise approximately $1500 for travel.  We ask you to consider our team as we represent not only South Carolina but also the St. George community.

First Lego League, FLL, is an international competition organized for elementary and middle school students ages 9-14. In August of each year, a new challenge is announced focusing on a real world topic related to the sciences. In addition to the research, there is a robotics part of the competition that revolves around designing and programming Lego robots to complete tasks for point values. A third part of this program focuses on teamwork and the FLL Core Values, emphasizing friendly competition and the value of discovery. Students discover solutions to various problems and meet for tournaments to share knowledge, compare ideas and compete on the robot table.
