Help send my Mom to MS Treatment!

My mom's story:

I love my mom. She just turned 50 this year. She has always been a very active woman, having participated in high level sports for most of her life, such as rowing and long-distance running. She was a Registered Nurse for 25 years - caring for people was always a passion for her. She has always had an easily recognizable and contagious laugh.  Always being the caregiver of her hospice patients, family and athletes, her disease has changed everything.

She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2007 after suffering many years with pain and weakness. She had numerous relapses, but her neurologist never diagnosed her properly with relapsing/remitting MS (what she thought she had due to her medical background). In 2016 she received a second opinion and was officially diagnosed with relapsing/remitting MS and finally started MS medication. They consist of nine different medicines daily plus medicinal cannabis due to her severe pain. She also receives 40 injections for pain weekly throughout her back, neck and face. Even with medication, she still suffered from a relapse very recently.  She has been off work  as a Registered Nurse since 2016.

The treatment protocol we are pursuing consists of intravenous and perilymphatic administration of mesenchymal stem cells designed to repair her immune and nervous systems. As MS is an autoimmune disease in which the body attacks itself, this treatment is designed to stop these attacks without the use of multiple daily medications. The treatment is well-documented and is undergoing clinical trials in Canada and the US, but has been available in Panama for decades.

We are currently without the funds needed to pursue this treatment option as she have been off work for over 2 years. As the treatment is still in it's infancy in Canada, we are seeking treatment in Panama at the Stem Cell Institute. As the disease is currently incurable with current available treatments, we wish to pursue this modality while she still has mobility. This treatment holds the potential to improve the quality of her life by removing the need for all pain and MS medications she is on, along with eventually getting back to work.

The clinic has given us 90 days to raise the money required.
