Hi everyone! I’m Danielle! Many of you know me from the work I do in St. Louis schools as an athletic trainer, from church, or just out and about. Some of you may not know, but I LOVE working with kids and building a one-on-one relationship with them to help encourage them in the day-to-day struggles that they face. For the past 5 years I have been blessed to be a part of the lives of many students through my work as an athletic trainer, but I now feel it is time for a little bit of a change and I have been presented with an exciting opportunity, but I need your help to make it happen.
I came across a position through Mission to the World (MTW) that would allow me to serve students through the organization “UR Amazing” for the next 14 months in Lethbridge, Canada. Through this position I will be able to work with students to help further UR Amazing’s goal that those who participate in this program will graduate from high school, play a positive role in their community, maintain a job, and have healthy families. This position will allow me to use the skills I have learned working with the youth in the St. Louis community, as well as develop other skills I can use to help teach students how to be more successful in the future. I'm excited to join this team and build relationships with these kids and families.
Here is where I could really use your help. Since UR Amazing serves a community where 40% of the youth are living beneath the poverty line, the goal of this organization is to freely provide the students with tools that allow them to be more successful. As such, I will need to raise my own support in order to take part in this exciting position. At this time I have 25% of my needed support, but I still have a long way to go. Your donations will be put into my account with MTW and will be used to help cover my expenses for the time I spend in Lethbridge. My hope is to raise the necessary support so I can be serving in Canada by July 2018. If you would be willing to help send me on my way I would be extremely grateful and humbled by your generosity.
