My father had neck surgery in February and then back surgery in April, and now he is back in Boston recovering from emergency surgery and battling a severe infection. His body is rejecting the titanium and he could face a fourth surgery as well. This has been extremely difficult for him both physically and emotionally.
He has been out of work for several months recovering from the surgeries and was planning to return to work in May. Unfortunately that will not be happening now, and at this point we don't know what his future will look like or what he'll be able to do.
His short-term disability ends after this week and I’m not sure when, or if, he’ll be able to return to work. I can't imagine how afraid he is of what’s going to happen to him but he doesn’t want to ask anyone for help. He is embarrassed and doesn’t want to feel like a burden. It breaks my heart to see him going through this.
I'm hoping we can help him focus on getting better and not worrying about losing his home, or how he'll eat or get his medications. The money raised will go directly into his living expenses, medications, medical bills, and anything he needs to help during his recovery. Every little bit helps!
If you're unable to make a financial donation, we also have a meal train started for him and know he'd love receiving cards and well wishes!
I know my dad would help anyone if given the chance so I’m hoping we can do this for him.
