Help Scott Ellis beat cancer bills

$10,347 of $28,000 goal

As some of you may have heard, on 10/16/2017 our drummer, friend, and family member, Scott Ellis was diagnosed with Stage 3 Non-Hodgkins B Cell Follicular Lymphoma. When caught on time it is a treatable form of cancer, so in Dec 2017 he began treatment at Cedar Sinai’s Tower Oncology and Medical Group for 6 months of chemotherapy treatment.

So far treatment has gone extremely well and the results are very promising.

While the outpouring of love, compassion, well-wishes, prayers and positive thoughts have been extremely helpful, much appreciated and a source of comfort, due to the financial implications of such a diagnosis and treatment, we have come to you for a little help.

While Scott is fortunate enough to have insurance, he remains responsible for some out-of-pocket costs. (Each chemotherapy session is about $40k and PET/CT scans cost about $87k, and though he’s only paying a portion of that, as you can imagine, it adds up quickly).

If you know Scott, then you know he is not the type to ask for help, so as his friends and family, we are asking for him.

Let’s help him walk away from this cancer and worry free.

Any help you can give will go directly to covering the out-of-pocket medical expenses and will be greatly appreciated by the band, Scott, and his family.

Thank you so much,

Justin and Adam

For those of you that didn’t see my Facebook update:

Cancer is gone. That’s it!

-It was a long 6 months.
-It was emotional and exhausting.
-I’ll never know how I got it or which treatment really did it, but I will say the swollen lymph nodes were 80% gone after 30 days of a plant based diet, prior to chemo.
Chemo definitely stepped in and wiped out whatever was left.

My wife was my rock through this and it would’ve been possible without her. I love you Aj Fannellis!

Thank you to all my friends helped me through this. Without you all it wouldn’t been so much harder. Those little “how you doing” texts and calls go a long way in times like these.

Thank you to She Wants Revenge and Audrey/Justin for being my chemo chauffeurs.

Thank you to everyone that donated to the She Wants Revenge sponsored GoFundMe ( https://www.gofundme.com/help-scott-ellis-beat-cancer-bills)
That helped a lot!
Extra special thanks to MusiCares, the Fann family, Fitz & The Tantrums, Jonathan Davis , Tessa Rae/Cheryl, and Brian Klein for going above and beyond!
Every little bit from everyone really helped to soften the blow.

I hope the next person that
goes through this contacts me. I want to walk through it with you. It’s easy to isolate and fall into some dark thoughts, and the more you stay connected to others, the easier it is.

Also, I’m actually grateful for all of this. I eat better. I love my life more. I love my family more. I love you all.
Sometimes it takes a good scare to sort us out.
