Mama Dog
I arrived in the city of Dumaguete City on the Philippines on the 21st of July, this beautiful dog was the first dog I encountered and she had a beautiful little puppy in her care. Sadly enough, during the day and at night time they would be let out wondering on the streets. I’d come outside of my apartment and always see them together, one morning I gave them food and they seemed very appreciative about it. That very night her little puppy got run over by car no less than 2 metres away from me. I spent the whole night in shock, and I could hear mama dog crying out for her for hours while I layed in bed. Since that horrific night, Mama Dog and I have bonded, whenever she was out she’d come to me straight away and lay next to me while i’d FaceTime my girlfriend back in Australia.
It breaks my heart to see the poor conditions she is in, she’s infested with fleas with bite marks all over her, cuts and marks on her ears and very malnourished. Yesterday I witnessed what appears to be her owner letting her out and when she ran out and looked back at him the owner threatened to throw a rock at her and she ran away. At that point I felt as though something had to be done.
As much as I’d love to bring her back to Australia, I can’t as Australia does not allow animal imports from the Philippines but there are alternatives such as exporting her from here to another country that does allow exports to Australia. Of course it will be very pricey, I’m not 100% what the price would be and I don’t even though if it’s enough, but if it is, all remaining funds will be donated to organisations that help animals that have been poorly treated. I’d do anything to bring Mama Dog back to my home of Perth, Australia. Please help save this beautiful soul.
