Hello to all my Fur Friends
My name is Storm; I am a beautiful long hair Crème dachshund. I was rescued from a horrible breeder who tried to make money by showing me at dog shows and breeding me. Due to the poor breeding that was done to create me I have many health issues. Even at only four years old and my entire life so far being at a puppy mill my new Mommy says that I am the sweetest little thing she has ever met.
When she saw me and how bad my breeder treated me she just knew I needed to get out of that place and away from that woman, just by looking in my big brown eyes. I have the puppy dog eyes down but I did have to go through a lot of pain to be able to look that way. The only way the women would let my new mommy take me away from the puppy mill was for a fee of $400, so my mommy used all of her savings and a little more to save me. She works with special needs and she loves her clients like family and after less than a week I do too. I help her with therapy with her clients, we do love them but it does not pay that much.
Once my new mommy got me she immediately took me to a vet because it was so hard for me to breathe. I am embarrassed to say that I was covered in I believe my own fecal matter and fleas. My poor genitals had so many knots in the fur that when I tried to go to the bathroom it stayed attached to me and soaked into the knots and fur. After removing all the fleas and the matted hair from me, my new mommy could finally show the vet what other issues I was having. The vet found that I have bad knees that pop out of place while I walk and it hurts really bad and I have to shake my poor legs to get my knees pop back in place every so often. Due to the breeder tossing me on the floor in front of my mommy I was not able to walk on my own for a couple of days due to me being so sore. The vet also found four masses, three on my nipples and one on my shoulder.
The vet wants to do testing to see if the masses on my nipples are cancer, even though she is very sure that at least two are. I also have very painful and rotten teeth. At just four years old I will have to have 75%-80% of my teeth removed. Mommy makes me some yummy homemade food that is kind of like a really healthy soup because I can not chew. Due to the masses in my breast I need to get a hysterectomy to reduce the chance of forming new masses in the future. I also need all my shots to make sure I do not get sick before and after my surgery. My mommy says that I have an AMAZING soul and a huge heart in both the metaphoric and physical sense. The vet says that some of my breathing issues are due to an oversized heart that gives me upper respiratory issues and she will not be able to fix that issue for me.
My mommy has spent an additional $210 to find all this out and now all my surgeries at the low cost clinic are going to be $425 plus some additional aftercare expenses. The vet has me scheduled for surgery at the low cost clinic on 3/29/2017, if we do not have the money by then I will have to wait at the back of the line which is late august and my cancer will spread. My mommy and I need help with the $425. Please help me. My mommy is trying her best to show me that there is such a thing as LOVE and that I am safe and cared for. Please help her continue to help me. I still have so many special needs and elderly patients I want to help and love. My mommy is trying to give me an amazing and long life but I need help to continue our journey to do so.
