My name is Jose Alfredo Bellido. I am 38 years old, father of 3 amazing boys, and I have brain cancer. I desperately need your help to survive this cancer for the sake of my boys. Any prayer and financial support you can offer will make a tremendous impact and forever be appreciated.
HERE IS MY STORY
Pre-Cancer
I am a cook and a father to Jose (16), Jason (14), Jacob (4). Our lives are different than the average family, as we are a life-sustaining team for Jacob who has Cerebral Palsy. This disease requires him to live on a ventilator and have 24 hour nursing care. Jose and Jason are a HUGE support to me in caring for Jacob, but I need to LIVE to care for Jacob and to be a dad/provider for all 3 of my children.
Cancer
I never expected to get cancer as a young dad, but on August 28, 2017, I was diagnosed with Glioblastoma. I underwent brain surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. This July 2018, I was informed that my 9 months of chemo was ineffective. In addition, a new tumor had grown on the OTHER side of my head (likely caused from radiation treatments at the original cancer site). Due to its location, this new tumor is inoperable. With no other options, I was started on radiation treatments at the new tumor site. Unfortunately, with the very 1st treatment, I became incapacitated with significant neurological and physical problems. This appeared to be the end of the treatment road for me.
New Hope
I have recently been presented with an alternative cancer clinic that has had success with advanced stage glioblastoma patients. Many patients’ tumors have completely disappeared or shrunk so that they are experiencing sustainable quality of life 10-20 years later!! This is plenty of time for me to get my boys to adulthood. Treatment consists of genetic testing and one year of IV treatments specific to the findings. Upcoming costs are estimated to be $250,000 (genetic testing, physicians, treatment protocol costs, travel/lodging out of state during treatment).
