Help save Ollie's life

Our tiny french bulldog puppy Ollie is really sick with a Giárdia infection. I've already used up all my savings to keep her alive (as insurance won't cover it), but I've run out and if we can't raise enough money she will have to be put down.

My son Simon had been asking me every day since he was 3 for a dog, and I’ve waited many years to make sure would be able to give a dog the best life ever. I had to wait until he would be able to help me out with all the responsibilities that dogs require (I'm a single dad who works three jobs) and also a stable income, a good place to live, etc.

Simon suffers with anxiety, has panic attacks and a really hard time with his ADHD and I knew that a dog would have some serious therapeutic effects on him, and it has.

Unfortunately, Ollie is really sick and we want to be able to give her a chance to fight the parasites she's suffering with and live a healthy, happy life with us.

Both me and my son are devastated right now, it’s definitely the worst situation I’ve been through my entire life, while I’m writing it in tears I see our little Ollie laying down without all that energy and happiness she had before, and beside her I see my son crying and having anxiety.

If you can help contribute anything to help us cover her treatment, please donate.

With gratitude from the bottom of my heart,

Vini Du Branco

It’s been almost 2 weeks since I’ve started this campaign over here. Ollie is doing great so far, today is the last day of the first round of her treatment, it’s been a lot of work and I hope she will keep improving, get rid of the parasites and develop a good imune system which is the main issue for not getting sick again.

I’ve met a new veterinarian yesterday and he just confirmed something that I’ve been suspicious about since we have no clue about Ollie’s past before I’ve got here, she’s unfortunately a victim of trafficking and she was probably taken away from her mom in very early stages to be sold and that might have caused the imune deficiency she’s suffering from and these parasites are most likely from the very bad breeding conditions she was exposed to.

From tomorrow she will be free from all the medication for 7 days and then we will start the second round, 8 more days with the all the procedures and finally a new analysis to see if we’ve got the results we’re fighting for.

Thanks for all the support

It’s been quiet for a while, asking people for help has never been my strongest side and I’ve also been 100% focused on her treatment, we couldn’t even even travel to London as we’ve been planning for a couple of month before but the most important is that she’s responding very positively to the treatment.

This is the 5th of 24 days of treatment, Ollie is doing very well, she put in some weight, sleeps the whole night and it’s not having diarrhea. She had some bad side effects on the first day of the treatment but now I came up with a cocktail that keeps her hydrated and prevent her from vomiting every thing ( medication against parasites and nutrients ).

It’s a full time job taking care of her, gotta watch her 24/7 to prevent her to eat her own or other animals feces and other contaminated things she finds outside, I have to sanitize everything all the time and shower her with a special shampoo almost everyday. I give her small portions of gastrointestinal food every 1 and half hour and sleep beside her with her leash tied around my wrist to make sure I wake up if she tries to jump off the bed. It’s a lot ...

Improvements are clearly done but we still have no guarantee that her condition is something that’s gonna hold in the future. We still have to send her feces to new a analysis and a new ultrasound to see if her polyps have developed ( $$$it’s expensive $$$) and if a surgery will be needed now, but hopefully not, it’s enough with this whole parasite infection.

Thanks again and please, help us out to raise some more funds to keep it going on and sharing the campaign to everyone everywhere

Unfortunately it happened again, after a couple of days doing good, the Giárdia infection attacked our sweetheart and we had to star the treatment right away, it’s been a lot of work here with all the sanitizing, I can’t go back to work and the worst of everything is that she has already had side effects from the Metronidazole, the medication we’re treating her against the parasites. She’s been vomiting everything and it’s only day one of 24 days treatment. 8 days with medication, 8 days without and then 8 more days with the medication again. If she can’t get treated against it she won’t have a chance to survive.

It sucks so much, it’s been tough and I’m getting overwhelmed and deeply sad, if I was already broke with all the expenses, keeping on treating her and not being able to work will just ruin my economy even more. But she’s still the most important right now.

Send us your good vibes, thoughts, words and whatever help you could, sharing is caring too!! Share it everywhere and every donation means the whole world to us

Ollie woke up vomiting today, that sucks but otherwise shes been doing relatively good lately, she’s managing to sleep the whole night without having to poop several times as she used to do before and her poop is still solid and looking mostly normal, the downside is her energy level which is low, she’s very slow, don’t wanna walk so much and sleep all the time. She’s tiny and skinny, not putting in the weight she needs to look like a bulldog but I hope that day will come soon.

We’re waiting for the results of the Giárdia test, we took some samples on Thursday, would be so good to hear that she has beaten those parasites and realize that the veterinarians were wrong when they said that the best solution would be putting her to sleep, that would be the best best news for us but I’m quite convinced that she will have to do the treatment a couple of more times according to the new veterinarian we’ve been in touch with. It’s gonna be a different medication and I hope this one won’t make her collapse like the last treatment.

Looks like the campaign here is dying out, I don’t know what else could I do to get more exposure, we’re so grateful for all the help we’ve got but we haven’t reached the half of the goal yet, it sucks to be in this position where I need to ask for money, but it seems like this is the only way for us right now. Shame on these insurance companies for ripping people off and shame on the veterinarian care in Sweden for charging this ridiculous amount of money, it’s totally taking advantage of living beings in desperation and pain.

Keep on helping, keep on sharing, let’s do it!!!

Waiting for her food. Yummy
