It has been 4.5 years since my mum has been diagnosed with lymes disease as she was bitten by a tick in 2012. Since this time our dad has also contracted this disease.
To all those who have never heard or understood what lymes disease is all about, some ticks carry borrelia which is a spirochete venom which poisons your entire body. You also contract Co-infections fastly which deteriorates your immune system and makes you very sick. There are thousands of people in Australia who suffer from lymes disease in silence as this is not recognised by the Australian medical board. Which leaves sufferers with no choice but to seek treatment overseas.
This is where our journey begins, treatment in Malaysia!
Mum and Dad have been given the opportunity to have their first treatment in Malaysia in June 2017 followed by a second round of treatment in July 2017. The treatment consists of infusions of antibiotics/vitamins, ozone therapy and hyperthermia. This procedure is very expensive and mum and dad have already saved what they can and we need to save another $40,000 by July 2017.
A day in their lives consist of: chronic pain, fatigue, muscle spasms, constant pain shooting in the side of the head, nausea, stiffness in the joints, severe jaw pain, brain fog/confusion and at times not even being able to get out of bed or even being able to work. With my 15 year old sister still being in school and myself 19 working and living back at home to help support my family I am reaching out to all those who can assist with any little bit to get my parents overseas for this life saving Treatment.
To those who know my parents would know how much they both are always helping others and are thoughtless towards themselves. With this disease if treatment isn’t done the long-term outcome is: they will permantly have to give up work, total incapacitation, bed ridden, financial hardship, mental stability and the worst case is losing my parents forever.
Please find it in your heart to help us finically in any way possible. Every little bit helps!
