Help Save My Cat's Butt

This is the story of Zilu's bootyhole.

When we went to go adopt Zilu they said she had an "infection". Now, I watched a lot of Animal Planet and Cats 101 and when he showed it to me I knew it wasn't an infection. Turned out I was right- it was a prolapsed rectum. Eek. The guy that had her could not afford to take her to the vet. Nohtal and I knew that she was going to die if she didn't get to a vet ASAP. Soooo, we picked her up and brought her to the vet for surgery the next day.

When I went to go pick her up from the vet he shook my hand then told me, "I put her butt back in!". He told me to clean it yada yada yada... I know how to keep a bootyhole clean. When I brought her home I would always check her butt. (I have literally never looked at a cat's brown eye so many times as I have recently). Unfortunately, her butt popped out when she pooped. SHIT! I did what my instincts told me and pushed it back in.

I took her to the vet (a different one) and they said they need to treat what is causing the prolapse. Makes sense. At this visit she was given shots, dewormed, and was tested for parasites. Never have I ever prayed for parasites before! When the vet called me and told me she tested positive I rejoiced!! She told me that the parasites can cause straining , which can cause the prolapse. She also said that this parasite (giardia) is hard to get rid of.  So, since then I've been cleaning the house really well and keeping Lil Z's butt clean.

Days go by and more vet appointments. Now she is taking pain medicine that will help her relax when she poops and hopefully help the straining. We also have some stool softener. We're  getting close to the end of the first parasite treatment and will most likely have to start another. Keep in mind that Sazz is on the treatment as well! At the most recent vet appointment she told me that she's worried that Zilu's bootyhole muscles are weak and unable to stay inside when she poops. That means... surgery. The surgery she will most likely need is a colopexy. It's an invasive surgery that has a high success rate. The costs for this surgery is anywhere from $800-$1800 depending on the severity.

I love Lil Z already and I want her to be healthy and happy. Even grumpy ole Sazz likes her! Adding up all the vet expenses since we got her it has been around $1400. I'm not a baller and I don't have anymore extra money. I'm reaching out for help because if I can't raise enough money then I will have to surrender her to a rescue. Anything will help! Zilu's butt thanks you all.
