Help Sarah on Her Healing Journey

Donation protected

Springtime always bring a sense of renewal and with summer on the horizon, Sarah is optimistic that her healing will continue to grow. But it hasn’t always been an easy path paved with blossoming hope. She is a lover of nature, once an avid mountain climber and skier, who still finds herself more at home among the trees than anywhere else. Everything changed because a tick crossed her path.

Sarah’s journey has been one of a champion. She has battled the blows of Lyme disease for almost a decade. She has dealt with the extreme chemical sensitivities and turmoil to her whole body that is significant to the illness. Excruciating nerve and muscle pain have kept her from experiencing the activities she loves so much. Last summer, she found herself homeless in her car, using paper towels as a blanket because her reactions were so severe. She could only eat a handful of foods and was unable to enter people’s homes for fear of a trigger. She couldn’t even be hugged. Cold weather was fast approaching and she knew her time was short.

Sarah kept a blog detailing her life which illustrates her
eloquent writing. This was the last entry before things shifted for her:

“As with anything in life I have met the world where it is and the world has met me where I am and I’ve done my best with it and this is what is happening. Raindrops can still sound beautiful and leaves changing color in a field full of aspens can still evoke wonder. And that there is ambiguity means that there also is still promise of something new to unfold. Perhaps in surrender a new paradigm of solutions will open up, unveiling something beyond what can be found by figuring things out and logic. Perhaps that’s the gift prompted by this exhaustion. There always, always is promise.”

Sarah has come a long way, experienced much healing and resolve, but she still needs your help. Once a practicing psychologist, she is unable to work and it’s been through the kindness of friends and strangers that’s she’s been able to focus on her health. Her funds are running low and she is in a position where she critically needs to have her living and medical costs covered. She has found great healing and joy in creating art and writing poetry, which has opened up a whole new passage for her.

Now, she has an exciting goal in mind: to compile her poetry and artistry into books, including one for children. It brings her a rejuvenating sense of purpose and an avenue that could truly bloom into a career for her. There is a collaborative effort with this fundraiser to cover a substantial part of her living and medical expenses and her artistic endeavors. She has urgent requirements, including the need for a new place to live in a few weeks, which she is still searching for. Raising money for Sarah enables her to make her dream a reality while having her life’s needs met in the best way possible. There are even cards made of her whimsical drawings available for purchase.

With your help, she can print and distribute her work. And that same help will ease the burden of her essential healthcare load. People find her prose and drawings very uplifting and enchanting. She has a vivid and pure way of looking at the world that hasn’t changed despite her long, arduous journey. Imagine what it would be like to see Sarah’s creations on bookshelves and in homes. You can make that happen.

There is always hope on that horizon and Sarah’s unwavering spirit showcases that hope. Your donations and support can help Sarah to flourish, to take another leap forward. She has survived; let’s help her thrive. One day, we’re going to see her climbing again. We’ll hear her infectious laughter as she dances and does cartwheels. She changes a room with her smile and maybe, just maybe, she’ll change the world with her words.

Thank you for your contributions and for taking the time to learn more about Sarah’s journey!
