Help Rose Get to UPENN

It is of such importance to me that I be a light and I set a positive example for others. In my 23 years of life I have experienced more than I feel any human bargains for. I was severely bullied for over a decade and had my hair cut, trash stuffed in mouth, and I was pushed down flights of stairs. Having experienced severe bullying my self-esteem was depleted. After graduating high school, I did not see the beauty in myself and  experienced domestic violence in my relationships.

Despite experiencing so much in this lifetime, I am still determined to chase my dreams no matter what, not let my past define who I am, and truly make a difference in this world. During my time at the UNC Charlotte I held numerous leadership roles and received the 2015 Student Organization Leader of the Year Award, the 2015 North Carolina Campus Compact Award, the 2016 Society State of Mind Award, and the 2017 Circle Leader of the Year Award. In spring 2017, I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In the fall of 2017 I joined the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Stop Abuse for Everyone Speakers Bureau so that I could share my stories and spread awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault on a much larger scale. In the spring of 2018, I earned the title of Pure International Miss North Carolina and in June I will compete for the title of Pure International Miss America! In my role as Pure International Miss North Carolina I advocate for many causes across the Carolina's including my platform Feeding the Heart and Soul of America.  

Feeding the Heart and Soul of America focuses on encouraging and inspiring our communities in need to enhance their self-worth and reach their personal goals, from both professional and mental health perspectives. Feeding the Heart and Soul of America includes Everyone’s Birthday parties for children, college tours for men and women, and pageants for women, all of whom face homelessness. At this time, we have partnered with Chuck E. Cheese, DefyGravity Trampoline Park, Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park, Sea Life Aquariums, Dave and Buster’s, Harris Teeter, and Food Lion.

I was recently accepted into the University of Pennsylvania Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership program! This is an Ivy League university and one of the top universities in the country. The Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership program is the program of my dreams as I aspire to become an extraordinary nonprofit director and professor. Once I attain my Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership I will then apply to PhD programs. Once I attain my PhD I will continue my philanthropic efforts to be a voice and Feed America's Heart and Soul. 

I created this GoFundMe  to share my story with the world to encourage others to never give up on their dreams or their communities. I am also asking for support of my dream to further my education at the University of Pennsylvania. This program will truly equip me with the tools needed to continue to make a difference in the most effective and efficient ways. At this time, I am unable to afford the cost of tuition ($60,000) and the cost of living ($30,000). I would like your support for me to continue my dreams.  This GoFundMe does not cover the entire cost of the program or the cost of living but it will truly help make a difference.
