Help Ron Wilburn Beat Cancer

Donation protected
My dad isn't one to show any weaknesses (in front of people), let alone ask for help. He always wants to show that he is strong and can face any challenge head on (he is also stubborn). However, we are left with minimal options.   Anyone who knows my Father, Ron, knows how much of a hardworking, strong, and brave man he is.  He is also equally goofy and full of sarcasm and jokes. For those of you who haven't yet had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful man should know before anything else that he holds the record for the biggest Seinfeld fan in the world (or at least I like to think so).  He is a Washington D.C. native and a dedicated  Washington Redskins fan.  My Dad worked very hard to support his family as a lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician at Southwest Airlines.  He served our country in the United States Marine Corps and is also the father of four girls and six grandchildren (all girls). I'm still unclear of if being in the military was harder than being surrounded by bossy little females who are all related to him (sarcasm inherited from my Dad). He is above all, the best Father that my siblings and I could ever imagine having. But back to why we are all here...

My Father was diagnosed with Stage IV Prostate Cancer in 2014 and it was the hardest time my family could have ever imagined going through, or so we thought. It was an amazing feeling learning that it went into remission and my Dad could start to lead a somewhat normal life again, unfortunately that did not last long. The cancer came back and we recently learned that it has metastasized. While this is an extremely difficult time for Ron, his family, and loved ones, who aren't able to help out as much as we would like due to him living out of state, we are trying our hardest to pull together in any way that we can and trying to raise money to help pay medical bills and any other bills that may need to be paid during this time.  We are waiting on approval for help from the VA but it is taking too long and could possibly take months or even years until he is approved.  We are praying for my Dad's health to get better and to try to help him and his young children live as comfortable a life as possible in these hard times. Thank you everyone. It means the world to us to have any help we can get in such a time of feeling helpless.
