Help Roger Breathe Easier

Donation protected
Hi Everyone,

My name is Kelly Sowders, and I am creating this page on behalf of my dad, Roger Russell. My Dad is the toughest, most hardworking person I have ever known. Whether he was driving a coal truck or operating heavy equipment, my Dad always made sure that we were taken care of. He often worked two jobs, back to back, to provide for us. Unfortunately, years of hard work outside of and around the coal mine have taken their toll on his health. My Dad just received his black lung diagnosis.

Although there is no cure for black lung, there is stem cell therapy (cellular therapy) that can help repair his damaged lungs. With a 95% satisfaction rate, we believe this therapy will help give my Dad an opportunity to enjoy his life again. The Lung Institute  has helped people suffering from a wide range of lung diseases, including black lung, and believe my Dad would be an excellent candidate for the treatment.

For anyone that doesn’t know my Dad, he is 65 and a father of two, myself and my older brother Marty. He has been married to my Mom, Helen, for forty years. He is outspoken, hardworking, and the biggest animal lover you will ever meet.

People that know me, know that I followed a career path in occupational safety due to the occupational health issues my dad has sustained. It was my hope to help others avoid the same fate as his.

I want to give my Dad a chance at life again. In his current state, he can’t walk ten feet without having to sit and catch his breath. He even has issues with catching his breath and is now using oxygen to help. Unfortunately, the oxygen is only making his weak lungs weaker. None of the treatments have helped and we are desperate to try the stem cell therapy as a last resort. This is not covered by insurance, and we will be paying $12,000 out of pocket to get him into treatment. The funds raised will cover a two- day outpatient treatment in Nashville and two additional treatments 2 to 3 months later. We are fortunate that the treatment facility is in Nashville, but we will need all the help we can get in order to get him the care he needs. Please donate what you can. We appreciate any and all help we receive. Even if you can’t donate, please share the link. Thank you and God Bless!
