Hello everyone! My name is Robin Hernandez and I will soon be attending the University of California Santa Cruz. The whole process of finishing high school and being accepted into a UC is quite surreal, however, my family and I will struggle with having to pay for all of the charges on our own.
I have always worked hard in my high school career in order to prepare myself for the adult world. Whether it was consistently making the Oakland Technical High School honor roll, working, or participating in sports and after-school activities I made it clear that I was an amazing contender for college.
For the last 2 years my closest family member has been plagued with an unfortunate case of cancer this has not only brought mental hardships to my family but financial obstacles. Balancing the heavy workload of advanced classes with taking care of an ill relative was not something anyone in our household was prepared for. Even with this pain, I have successfully been able to graduate high school and am striving to receive a bachelors within the next 4 years of my life. The medical bills that my family has received have been immense and financial aid will only be covering certain costs.
At UCSC I will major in Political Science as it has always been one of my greatest interests. I have always succeeded in my Government and history classes and I would love to continue my passion throughout my college career. The money that you donate will be able to pay for my tuition, housing fees, and any additional costs that may arise.

Todo el proceso de terminar la preparatoria y ser aceptado en una universidad es bastante surrealista, sin embargo, mi familia y yo tendremos dificultades para pagar todos los cargos por nuestra cuenta.
Te puedo asegurar que soy un estudiante muy trabajador. He sido un estudiante de honor durante los cuatro años de la preparatoria, y siempre participe en deportes y actividades extraescolares. Hice un esfuerzo para demostrar que soy un gran contendiente para la universidad.
Durante los últimos 2 años, un familiar cercano ha estado batallando un desafortunado caso de cáncer; esto no solo ha traído dificultades mentales a mi familia, sino también obstáculos financieros. Incluso con este dolor, he logrado graduarme de la preparatoria y estoy haciendo un esfuerzo grande para graduarme de la universidad en los próximos 4 años de mi vida. Las facturas médicas que recibió mi familia han sido enormes y la ayuda financiera que he recibido de la universidad solo cubrirán ciertos costos.
En UCSC me especializaré en Ciencias Políticas, ya que siempre ha sido uno de mis mayores intereses. Siempre he tenido éxito en mis clases de gobierno e historia y me encantaría continuar mi pasión a lo largo de mi carrera universitaria. El dinero que usted done podrá pagar mi matrícula, cuotas de vivienda y cualquier costo adicional que pueda surgir.
