Hey there friends and family!
I need help fighting a daily battle and as embarrassing as it is, it is also necessary for me to ask for help as I am in dire need and feel helpless.
I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in August 2012 during high school. My condition has progressively gotten worse and doctors have tried several medications like chemotherapy, immune suppressants, steroids, and more. I have a potential bowel obstruction that needs to be taken care of surgically and undergo aggressive treatment in order to achieve remission again.
Crohn's Disease has no cure and the only way to treat it is to manage it's symptoms with modern western medicine.
I need to get CT & MRI scans, blood tests, and switch medications on top of current bills, but I need at least $450 before the end of this month, and that does not include the treatment plan or labs. After I complete the scans this week my GI will assess exactly what to do and which meds to prescribe and other ordered tests are currently waiting for results back.
I need to seek treatment right away in order to avoid more flare ups and further damage to my intestines which would require harsher treatment and high risk procedure surgeries with low rates of succcess.
I weigh 95 lbs and lost 25 pounds in a couple of months, my body does not retain nutrients and I keep losing weight no matter how much I consume. I have severe abdominal pain, along with other symptoms like chronic fatigue, arthritic pain, headaches, nausea, lack of appetite, and nerve and muscle pain.
As I am incapacitated I cannot afford food, prescriptions, and even any basic necessities so I am turning to friends and loved ones as I am in this very bad flare-up.
Trying to live normally with a chronic debilitating illness is already challenging enough without dealing with overwhelming medical bills, my family and I would be grateful if you could contribute in any way!
