Ramses is a sweet, mild-mannered, and spiritually-minded, 13-yr old. His parents, Carlos and Ruby Muñoz, are hardworking and responsible people who have always provided for their family. It’s hard for them to admit they need this kind of help, but they need our help as they tenaciously fight for Ramses’s life. Please read on to learn about his fight and about how you can help out.

Ramses’s Situation
On December 20, 2018, he was diagnosed with a deadly and rare blood cancer- Early T-Cell Precursor Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ETP ALL).  For a month after diagnosis, Ramses stayed in the hospital to receive chemo treatments followed by a second bone marrow biopsy. Unfortunately, the results of the biopsy revealed that the treatments had not reduced the Leukemia cells as expected. This means a new course of treatment – a more aggressive form of chemo and a transplant.  The rare nature of his Leukemia makes treatment difficult. In addition, the treatment and the disease itself bring on complications like low hemoglobin, which only makes the situation more dire.

Pretty much every day since his diagnosis, Ramses has been hospitalized.  While Carlos continues to work, Ruby stays with Ramses 24/7 at the hospital.  This means she hasn’t been able to report to work this entire time. Carlos and their other two sons make the 40-mile, one-way drive to the hospital to provide support.  This is all very demanding on the whole family physically, mentally and financially.

How You Can Help
Financially- All of the funds raised will go towards medical bills, uncovered medical expenses- (such as supplements helping Ramses during chemo), family bills, and costs related to their needs while staying at the hospital. Ruby and Carlos will be the only ones authorized to withdraw any funds. ANY amount will help!

Recommendations- If you know anyone who has fought this disease or know any information about doctors who treat it, please email us that information.  Ruby and Carlos continue to search for the best treatment options possible.

Getting the word out- Please share this link and Ramses’s story with others (ex. social media, email, fliers, word-of-mouth). This will allow others the opportunity to help out as well and will make this campaign more successful!

Last, but most importantly, we ask that you, please, keep Ramses and his family in your prayers.  Psalms 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress”.  We’re confident He will be refuge and strength to them throughout this fight!

Thank you in advance for your loving support!

There are good news to share! Ramses’s last biopsy showed NO Leukemia in his blood or his bone marrow! His hemoglobin over the past couple of weeks has gone from 9 to 11- this is very reassuring! They are waiting on the doctors’ decision whether to go ahead with the transplant now or not. Hopefully, it won’t be necessary! He does continue on chemo treatments which still cause bad side effects, but he’s a trooper! We continue to pray for strength and endurance for Ram and his family. Thank you, as always, for your love and support. ❤️

*We have reduced the goal amount by $1,040, which was raised by the Taco sale a few weeks back. Thank you!

¡Gracias!

Aside from the common chemo side effects, Ramses has been tolerating his treatment well and has remained stable. Today he had a bone marrow biopsy, and we’re hoping the cancer cells are down to zero so he can start preparing for the transplant! We will keep you posted on his progress.
Thank you for your continued support and prayers!❤️

Ramses has been released from the hospital for the time being. He’ll be continuing his treatment as an outpatient. This Friday they will have an appointment to consider his options for the bone marrow transplant.

Per the recommendation of someone familiar with these cases, we will be raising the fund amount.

Ramses and his family would like to express their gratitude for your donations, recommendations, and kind words. They feel humbled by the continuous outpouring of love and support!
