Help Phoenix - Injured Black Lab

Donation protected
Phoenix is a 63lb black lab mix who wandered onto a farm in Jasper County. He hung out with the cows, chickens, cats and other dogs. The farm owner told animal control that he was such a sweet boy that she started feeding him. He went missing one day and upon return was severely injured. Animal control picked him up and transported him to a local vet. His head injury was cleaned and stapled, but funding did not allow for diagnosis of his back leg injury. Fellow rescue group, Rescue Me GA, alerted Our Pal's Place (O.P.P.) of this boy who needed immediate help. On Tuesday, O.P.P. made the 2 hour drive to Jasper County Animal Control to get him out and to our vet, North Roswell Vet Clinic. His diagnosis is a dislocated hip which will require immediate surgery. The challenge is he is also heartworm positive. It is not ideal to put a heartworm positive dog under for surgery, but his hip needs to be fixed before it heals inappropriately causing long-term problems. O.P.P. will be working with our vet to put together the best course of action for Phoenix. Meanwhile, we are quickly fundraising to afford Phoenix's surgery and subsequent heartworm treatment.  O.P.P. is a volunteer based organization so all funding goes directly to the care of the dogs and cats housed in our Pet Adoption Facility. Please consider donating to Phoenix for his needed surgery and heartworm treatment!
