Help Pay for My "Little Brother's" College

See that kid?  He is a good kid.  A great kid actually.  He has busted his tail in high school for the last 4 years to get into a great college and has done it…all the while helping raise his 4 younger brothers and sister in a two bedroom apartment in Santa Ana.  Well done, sir. 

I met Hazael 11 years ago when we were matched through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County.  The photo above was from that day…yes, I realize how much I have aged!  He and I set a goal to hang out every other week from the time he was in first grade until now and have more or less achieved that goal.  Over the course of those years, we have gone camping, fishing, hiking, golfing and spent some real quality time together.  We were even sent down to Cabo San Lucas as representatives for Big Brothers Big Sisters at a high dollar fundraising event.  I have seen him develop into a great young man with a solid work ethic and a strong moral compass who is going to be very successful in his future endeavors.

Now it is time for Hazael and I to graduate from BBBS as the longest running match in Orange County.

Here is the problem…he can’t pay for college.  Neither can his family.  Tamira and I can help but we can’t do it on our own.  We are going to start by giving $2,500 of our own money so he can go to college and not come out of it with crippling debt. Together, I am hoping we can raise $25k!

I will personally be managing the money and making sure the money goes directly toward tuition, books and, if money is still available, housing.

I am hoping that my contacts can pull this off.  I realize this is a hefty goal but I know we can do it!
