Help Our Maren Beat Cancer!!!

On Thursday July 18th our dear Maren was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer and has one hell of a journey ahead of her. The cancer is about the size of a peach and has started to push outside of the cervical wall but has not spread to anything else.

Maren starts radiation and chemo immediately following her egg retrieval, probably August 8th or 9th. She will do four days of radiation, and one day of chemo every week for 8 weeks. The doctor said she will not lose her famous hair. Even with insurance, costs for these procedures will be $30K+.

Not only does Maren need to be focused on her treatment, but also her fertility. While the likelihood of being able to save eggs was bleak at first, the amazing doctors at CCRM fertility clinic will be able to make egg retrieval and storage possible (hooray for the potential to have future Maren DNA offspring in this cruel world!).  This emergency treatment is anything but cheap, costing upwards of $20K.

There is a 100% chance that Maren has nurtured you (probably even over-nurtured you) in the past. This is our time to give back.  Let’s let her focus on feeling better and help lessen the burden of medical bills, special treatments, and inevitably missing work. All funds will go directly to Maren to help cover these expenses as well as helping her to get caught up on the already accruing bills.  

If financial help isn’t something you can contribute, Maren will also need to be taken to and from doctor visits. If you are able to contribute you time, a logistics link will be set up once appointment timing is decided.  A care package wish list has been set up on Amazon.
