Help our entrepreneurial friend in Uganda
Donation protected
Geoffrey is a great friend of ours. He has been my driver three times during my visits to Uganda but he is more than that!
On each visit he helps with our charity projects ( painting classrooms, supporting conferences as our PA!) and nothing is ever too much trouble. He constantly protects us and thinks of our needs & safety above his own.
Geoffrey took out a loan to pay for his van. He drives visitors around Uganda and this is is main source of income. He charges very little. He pays for his own food and accommodation. These trips take him away from his family for weeks on end. His loan is for £6000, which is a huge amount, especially on a Ugandan salary.
He treats his van with the greatest care; cleaning it inside and out every evening.
He has just two years to pay back his loan which leaves him very little money. Life is difficult for Geoffrey and his family. Despite this he always has a smile!
From his small house in a Kampala slum district he looks after his neighbours by buying them food when they are hungry, supports friends with school fees, and cares for the elderly. He has his own children’s fees to pay and looks after his 80 year old mother.
Geoffrey has great business plans. After paying off his loan he wants to buy boda bodas ( motorbikes) to use as short distance taxis. He is one of the most humble & caring people I have met. Just £2.00 would help him make a difference.
Geoffrey will send a bag of delicious
Ugandan coffee to everyone who donates £10 or more (this may take a little time to arrive so please be patient!)
Funds will go to me & I’ll forward them to Geoffrey through our secure bank account.
