My name is Yvonne and I'm starting this fundraiser to help my niece Nikki to pay her college tuition.
This quiet little girl has grown up to become an incredible young lady and she needs our help to achieve her dream of getting a qualification which will open the door to great work opportunities in South Africa and abroad.
Nikki was raised by a single mom, my incredible little sis, Magda. Despite facing extreme hardships and very stressful situations over the years, Nikki’s mom raised her with the type of values and morals that manifested into this wonderful young lady.
Nikki took full advantage of the opportunities presented to her and finished her secondary school career in 2017 as the top achieving academic student. She was hoping that achieving an almost perfect score will be enough to attract scholarships to fund her tertiary education. Unfortunately, fully funded scholarships in South Africa are rare and highly competitive.
Her academic ability and extraordinary work ethic did not go unnoticed by her peers and educators. She received a part scholarship to attend Belgium Campus, ITversity of choice for those wanting to excel in all things IT. Nikki is studying Bachelors in Computing, specializing in software engineering.
Nikki is now commencing her 2nd year of study and has just heard that she was once again the top achieving first year student in 2018. Despite continuous hard work and excellent marks, full scholarships are not accessible to her.
Nikki’s first year was funded by her mom by means of a loan and now the 2nd year tuition is due. I would love to lighten the financial burden for my sis and in the process let Nikki enjoy her studies without having to worry about where the next installment will come from.
Tuition Fees:
1st year 2018 – R88,000 | MINUS part scholarship R20,000 | MINUS study loan R25,000 = R43,000 outstanding
2nd year 2019 - R92,000 | MINUS part scholarship R24,000 | MINUS study loan R25,000 = R43,000 outstanding
3rd year 2020 - excess funds will go towards tuition in Nikki's final year
