Healing Help

Donation protected

Nancie Phelps Rosales, dear friend to so many all over the country, had emergency brain surgery January 24.

Many of you know that last October she had a small tumor removed from her upper spine. She missed 2 weeks of work, and we all hoped that (with radiation and medication) would be the end of it. It turns out that the breast cancer she thought she had beat back in 2008 has metastasized.

Cancer does not play favorites, even for someone who has devoted her life to dance, healing (Pilates) and animal rescue. Nancie has always been one of the hardest working and life-loving people we know. She has been the one who kept communication open between diverse groups of friends from all walks of her life. She has no family left for support, and even though she just got Medicare, her life is not set up to financially withstand the months-long recovery process she is facing.

Right now she can't even walk and she is going to need speech and memory therapy. She has been in the hospital ever since the 24th, and today is being transferred to CC Young Rehabilitation facility. Her husband Alvaro is working and taking care of the dogs, but this is very difficult for him. Diane has been an angel, but I don't want to overwhelm her with inquiries, so this page can serve as "information central". Please feel free to leave messages whether you are able to donate or not. We will post regular updates.
