Help my sister fight AML Leukemia

Donation protected

I am writing this on behalf of my sister, Wyntee May, who was just hit with a devastating diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  At 38, she is in the prime of her life with her two young children Ren (9) and Moi (10) and her husband police officer, Ernie Cruz.  Everything was going well for them. She was busy taking care of the kids, teaching while attending her graduate studies. Her husband works in another province so he is only home once or twice a week.

Sometimes at the beginning of April  2019, she was feeling body pain and running a high fever.  She took acetaminophen, hoping it will help her. After a few days of no improvement, she went to the hospital where she was diagnosed with Dengue fever.  She was advised to stay in the hospital to manage the symptoms and hydrate her. A few days have passed but the symptoms just won’t go away, she was transferred to a bigger hospital.  The doctors were puzzled by the continuous drop of platelets and red blood cells after a series of blood transfusions. She has been running a high fever non-stop so the doctors have done a series of tests of her blood and heart.  She has a history of heart problems since birth. After about 20 days of stay in the hospital and no conclusive diagnosis was given , she decided to go to her heart doctor in another province. While waiting in the parking lot of the doctor’s clinic, she passed out.  She was rushed to a hospital and after a multitude of tests including bone marrow biopsy, the diagnosis is Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She is going to start her chemotherapy on May 18, 2019.

At this difficult time, they are in need of financial assistance as they face mounting costs related to cancer treatment that might include stem cell transplant, lost wages, travel, temporary housing, and other living expenses. Her only focus right now should be winning this fight. Any donation you can make big or small will help them as they go through this difficult journey. Please share this anywhere you can and stay tuned for updates.
