Help my Mother fight pneumonia

Donation protected

We are starting this page to raise money for a loving mom Mrs.Shobha who has  been a
strong Woman with a smile on her face always. Shobha aunty (age:66), mother of Sneha
Suresh had come to the United States along with her Husband Mr. Lal (age:72) in
September 2018 to visit her daughter, son-in-law and her 2 little grand kids . She and her
husband were scheduled to travel back to their hometown Hyderabad on March 11th
2019.  On the morning of March 11th, she woke up being breathless and disoriented,
unable to respond coherently, her oxygen level dropped to 32 when we checked on the
oxymeter at home( Ideally the normal level should not drop below 90).  She was rushed to the ER at Northside Hospital, Dunwoody.  The doctors tried their best and since she was
not stabilizing, they decided to put her on ventilator, she is currently being treated in the
ICU. Doctors have diagnosed the cause as lack of oxygen, due to a severe lung infection
with para influenza virus, leading to Pneumonia. She is currently being supported with a
ventilator and food pipe. At the moment, the doctors are unsure of when she can get back home. As they are on a tourist visa (B1), they had an insurance from India which
unfortunately lapsed. As an elderly retired couple from India, all they wanted was, to
spend some time with their family and take back loving memories. With their Son-in-law
(Suresh kumar) being the sole breadwinner of the family, they would be forever grateful
and thankful to every single penny to bring back their mom home! We ask everyone of you reading this to contribute any amount towards this good cause. Every penny counts and
no amount is small!

Update : Our friends started this page and gave us the account / access details,
My name is Sneha and I am Shobha's only daughter.  We are currently living in Atlanta GA. I am here as a H4 Dependent along with my husband Sureshkumar Subburaman and two children, Akshara who is 5 year old and Mira who is just 2 year old. Since I am in H4 visa, I am not eligible to work, neither do I have an SSN nor bank account. The GoFund me account is linked to my husbands bank who is managing all the bills. We had signed as her guarantor when we admitted her to the Emergency room of Northside Hospital Dunwoody.   As of March 13th we had a conversation with the billing department of North Side hospital Dunwoody, the bill so far had already reached approximately $113,000 dollars  in just 3 days and each day was adding tremendously huge amount to the already existing unbearable cost of treatment.  We had also checked if they qualify for Medicaid or any other charity who works with people without means to pay, but unfortunately since they are not US citizens, they would not be eligible for Medicaid or any other charitable organization who works with the hospital. We had requested the the doctors and hospital to release her as soon as possible once she is a little stable,  since we did not have insurance and not sure how we would manage the heavy bills. Understanding our condition, the doctors had agreed to release her, provided we agreed to rent and set up all the necessary medical equipments and oxygen concentrator at home to constantly monitor her condition and oxygen level along with regular follow ups.  Although the rent of these medical equipment is quite high, it is comparatively manageable considering how expensive the hospital treatment costs. We were very hesitant to start this page and were not sure if this would even work, but having already spent quite some  money from our rainy day savings and almost exhausting credit card balances, this was our only means to manage this huge unforeseen and unfortunate financial situation. Mamma is still undergoing treatment for her breathing problems. She needs to use oxygen for 24 hours a day. Each doctors visit and diagnostic tests has to be covered from our pocket due to our insurance situation. Before leaving the hospital, they did a 2D scan, and learnt that she had blood clots in her lungs and arm, hence she is now on a high dose of blood thinners and the medications are very expensive as well. We are hoping that money collected here can be used to cover a part of the hospital bills.

My family and me are very grateful for all the support from our friends, family and donors.  We are also grateful for this platform GOFUNDME  to help us through this difficult time in our lives.  As of now, we are just focusing on one step at a time for my mother, and there is a long road to recovery. So please support, share, spread the word about the campaign
and keep her in your prayers.

Thank you,
Sneha suresh.
